ACS Tuition Exchange Program

The University of Richmond participates in a tuition exchange program with other members of the Associated Colleges of the South. The program is available to unmarried dependents, ages 23 and under, of eligible full-time faculty and staff.  This benefit is for undergraduate study only.

Students will apply through the sponsor or exporting institution where their mother, father, or guardian is employed. The host or importing institution will determine whether they will receive tuition exchange based on availability and their import/export balance. Export eligibility from the University of Richmond will be verified by the tuition liaison officer through the Department of Human Resource Services. (Please refer to your faculty or staff handbook for specific eligibility requirements.)

Participants in the program must be full-time undergraduate degree candidates, and only tuition charges for the regular academic year are covered in the ACS tuition exchange. An applicant must apply for financial aid at each member institution. As a general rule, no study abroad or summer sessions are included in this benefit. Tuition exchange through ACS TEP is subject to an annual participation fee of $1,500 payable by the student/family to the University of Richmond in early July prior to each academic year; that amount plus UR's matching fee will be paid to ACS annually. ACS TE is available for four years of study or until the requirements for the undergraduate degree are met, whichever is less. Participants must make satisfactory academic progress and remain in good standing; he/she must apply for re-certification through their sponsor institution each academic year. The program policies, guidelines and participation fee are reviewed each year and may change from time to time.

The 15 ACS institutions participating in the current ACS TEP are:
