About the Vice President

Hossein Sadid is the Vice President for Business and Finance/Treasurer of the University of Richmond. Hossein joined the University on July 1, 2009 after a 28-year career with Case Western Reserve University where he was most recently the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer from May 2003 until his brief retirement in October 2008. The University is fortunate to have attracted him out of retirement to assume its financial leadership position. 

Over the past three decades, Hossein has been a tireless advocate of higher education and community interests.  He has served on a variety of boards and professional groups including the National Association of College and University Business Officers and Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers.  He has served on the faculty of the American Council on Education and the Society for University Planning. 

His leadership and expertise has resulted in the receipt of many honors and recognitions which include the most distinguished private business award from the Hispanic Business Assocation, the Medal of Freedom Award from the Cleveland Chapter of NAACP, the Governor's Supplier Diversity Initiative Award, the Northeastern Neighborhood Development Corporation's Keystone ward for Outstanding Business Leadership, the Consortium of African American Organization's Business and Development Award, the Northeastern Neighborhood Development Corporation's Keystone Award for Outstanding Business Leadership and the President's Trailblazer Award.

Hossein is a certified public accountant.  He holds an MBA in accounting and finance and a postgraduate certificate in management information systems from Case Western Reserve University.  He has intensive international experience and speaks multiple languages.  He is married with three children.
